Dr. Farnham grew up in a small town outside of Erie, PA. She completed her undergraduate degree (B.S. in nursing) at Mercyhurst College in Erie. She re-located to sunny North Carolina where she worked as a cardiothoracic nurse. She then went to Indiana University to obtain a Doctorate in Optometry, which including training in ocular disease for six months at Bascom Palmer in Miami.
Dr. Farnham is a fellow with the American Academy of Optometry and a member of The American Optometric Association and Piedmont Optometric Society. She serves on the board of The Department of Health and Human Service in Gastonia, and the Child Fatality Protection Team and Community Child Protection Team in Gastonia. She enjoys practicing full-scope medical optometry for all ages, with a special love of behavior optometry in the pediatric population.
During her leisure time she enjoys running and spending time with her husband and 3 children.
